Alaska Communications secures $390 million credit facility to expand its fiber network

Alaska Communications, a provider of communication services in Alaska, secured a new $390 million senior secured credit facility.

Headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska Communications operates an extensive fiber network that spans 9,100 miles and includes an undersea fiber-optic system linking Alaska to the contiguous United States. Their robust fiber network serves business and wholesale customers throughout the state, ensuring reliable connectivity in even the most remote areas.

According to the official press announcement, Alaska Communications plans to use the fresh funds primarily to refinance existing debt and to accelerate investments in expanding the company’s fiber infrastructure. These infrastructures will further enhance connectivity for businesses and communities across Alaska, supporting critical communication needs in the region.
