Alaska Communications Secures New $390 Million Credit Facility to Expand Its Communications Infrastructure in the U.S.

Alaska Communications, a communications infrastructure provider based in Anchorage, Alaska, has secured a new five-year $390 million senior secured credit facility. This funding is set to be used for repaying existing debt and further investing in the expansion of the company’s fiber infrastructure throughout Alaska.

Alaska Communications, led by CEO Matt McConnell, operates a statewide fiber network and an undersea fiber optic system connecting Alaska to the contiguous U.S. The company is currently developing a network that spans 9,100 miles of fiber, aimed at connecting business and wholesale customers across the state.

The company plans to use the newly secured funds to extend its critical infrastructure, enhancing connectivity throughout Alaska. Alaska Communications, an affiliate of ATN International, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATNI), remains focused on supporting mission-critical and life-critical communications infrastructure in the region.
