Laennec AI raises Pre-Seed Funding

Cardiff-based medical AI startup Laennec AI raised an undisclosed amount in pre-seed funding to drive the development of its digital healthcare solutions.

The funding round saw participation from SFC Capital and OVC Ventures, alongside significant grant support from organizations including the Welsh Government, Innovate UK, and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Laennec AI focuses on enhancing chronic disease management by integrating advanced artificial intelligence into a user-friendly mobile app. The app allows patients to monitor chronic conditions such as asthma, COPD, COVID-19, flu, heart failure, and arrhythmias from the comfort of their homes. At the same time, it enables healthcare providers to remotely track patient health, ensuring timely interventions when necessary.

Led by Dr. Jase John (CEO) and Dr. Arathy Varghese (CTO & CRO), Laennec AI plans to use the fresh funding to accelerate the development of its medical devices and expand the app’s capabilities. This includes refining their AI-driven algorithms and ensuring their solutions meet regulatory and clinical standards, ultimately improving accessibility and outcomes for patients with chronic illnesses.
