Wordware, a San Francisco-based startup developing a full-stack operating system for AI development, has raised $30 million in seed funding.
The funding round was led by Spark Capital, with participation from Felicis, Y Combinator, Day One Ventures, and notable angel investors including Siqi Chen (Runway AI), Vlad Magdalin (Webflow), and Jason Boehmig (Ironclad).
Wordware offers an operating system designed to simplify AI development. It allows users to create, refine, and deploy AI agents using plain English, eliminating the need for complex coding. By treating natural language as the primary way to interact with and program AI systems, Wordware bridges the gap between technical experts and non-technical domain professionals.
With its innovative system, Wordware empowers professionals in fields like healthcare, education, finance, and logistics to actively participate in building AI-driven solutions. For example, a doctor could describe a diagnostic assistant’s functionality in natural language, while an engineer refines and deploys it into a working AI model. Similarly, educators can outline a lesson-planning AI or businesses can design customer service bots without the need for programming expertise. The Wordware system turns these plain English descriptions into actionable AI solutions, making advanced AI development accessible to a broader audience.
“We are not a code-gen application,” Filip Kozera, co-founder and CEO of Wordware, told VentureBeat, distinguishing his company’s approach from other no-code tools. “We believe we’re witnessing a paradigm shift, and AI agents represent a new kind of software. Rather than focusing on code-gen, we’ve chosen to prioritize AI agents because we believe they will play a central role in driving the economy and automation in the future.”
With fresh funds, Wordware plans to further enhance the capabilities of its full-stack operating system for AI development while expanding its business operations and accelerating its development efforts.
